"Great use of mise-en-scene, the different location, the different shots, wasn't just focused on one shot but the use mid shot, close up and well done on the editing" 
Yes we had different shots like they said above, close up was the last minute shot we did, if we didn't have any close up i believe the video wouldn't of been successful. So am very glad we used close ups! 


"It was so cute!! I loved the dancers, especially the dance, but my only problem was that it was dark out of know where, like the his standing against graffiti, I don't think that made a very good contrast because it was daylight then dark"
The graffiti background I believed worked well but we had teachers and also other peoples feedback telling us how it didn't work, but looking back to it, it does look slightly a bit odd, as its dark out of the blue. But the colour contrast does look nice but for future reference I have learnt that mixing daylight and night doesn't really go well (from peoples feedback)  


"Great costume change! Great locations, and wow you actually rented a white studio just shows how dedicated you are to your media! But seriously love the white outfit the artist and the dancers were wearing went very well and I love the feel of Britshness of the location you chose to do."
We chose various location due to the influence of other artists. If we chose only two location it would be boring. Ally Pally was a last minute as well as we didn't have enough shots. If we didn't have enough shots it would of looked tacky, from this I have learnt that we should of used more shots and should of not left it for last minute. 


"The scenes were too fast, like I wasn't able to see some of the scenes properly as it was going way to fast for me. Other then that I did like some of the effects that were being used."
This feedback made me look at my music video again and it was kind of true, some of the scene were going a bit to fast, some of the scene were less them three second. From this I have learnt that we should of got more feedback before we uploaded and completed it as peoples view does help very much and makes us look back at ours. 

"There wasnt enough matchcuts, some shots didnt link very well, and the contrast of dark and light didnt go am talking about the graffiti background"
Alot of people have said that the contrast of daylight and dark didnt really go well, looking at this on a new light I watched my video again and it didnt really go well, and also I realised we didnt have enough match cut due to the lack of time. In future I will remember this and do matchcut if i did it again.


Here are the statistics of Angelo "do without my love" as you can see an increase of viewers since January. We have had a lot of viewers viewing our music video which is a postive thing as it may mean that viewers have enjoyed watching our music video.

One of the things I have realised is that when I recieved a lot of feedback, I realised that a lot of peopke love the idea of the dancers dancing which is actually quiet nice and entertaining. But one of the things people didnt like is the fact that there was no narrative, no story apart from the lyrics giving it away how his love struck and singing about his "loved one". Our music video didnt have a narrative if I had the chace to redo all this again I would add a narrative so the audience could be interessted or do something like "to be contiuned" as this will make the audience tuned in for the another music video. I also would of added more match cut, as one of my teacher did say to me that they would of liked to see more match cuts, this would of made the music video interestting. Also I wouldnt mix daylight with dark (light) as this doesnt really have a good effect to it. One important thing I have realised through out this process is that with out team work this video would of not been succesful, cause of excellent communication and excellent team work I believe this music video was succesfull even though there was some errors.  If I had the opportunity to do this again I would plan it more and also plan more of the shots, we did get overly excited and went straight for it but if I was given the chance I would plan more shots and include match cuts or I may include a narrative. I loved making this music video even though I didnt really enjoy editing but I loved doing the digi pack and also blogging! as keeping my blog up to date. This fabulous chance I was given to create a music video was just amazing. Audeince feedback was very useful and getting everyones reaction after coming out of the cinema. it makes you think about peoples opinion and thinking how I could of changed it. Some people gave me postive and some negative which I took in to account. One thing I do regret is me and my team could of made enough rough cut and uploaded it for more feedback, as I believe feedback helps a lot as its from different peoples and opinion. I have never had the chance to actually make a music video and now I have I enjoyed it so much! I believe it was succesful and I absouletly loved watching it on the big screen and getting so much feedback! Getting the feedback made me watch my music various time and made me realised there has been some errors like quick shots, too many transitions and also the colour contrast. But the location and the artist and the dancers worked really welll. We all had ups and down but we got through it as a team and without team work like I said would of not been succesful. Overall I believe my music video was succesful and I loved it and also I loved my group!  

Evaluation 3- How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning & evaluation stages?

We used a lot of media technology that worked well with our piece.

Photoshop: Me and my peers were introduced to Photoshop to edit my ancillary work all which was done on this vital tool. This tool helped me edit all my pictures (my CD and my poster) for example I added the font from Photoshop and also how I should display my pictures. The kind of colour I wanted to use was all done on Photoshop

Final cut pro: As we all know final cut pro was vital all my editing process was done here. Adding the transitions and the effect was done on this tool. Without final cut there wouldn’t really be a music video piece!

The apple Mac and also handbrake: As I don’t have a Mac at home, I had to come in college and use the Mac that was provided. The Mac had all the tools that were essential for our music video, blogging, researching, taking screen shots, using Photoshop etc. Majority of my work was done on the Mac. Handbrake was used to import my final music video piece.

All sorts of cameras: Throughout the process (filming the music video, doing the anamatic, ancillary work) camera was used. Without the cameras there would be no film or anything! We used focus lens on the camera and also we used the tripod so the music video wasn’t static.

Viola: Viola is a programme that allows you to take screen shots of images, label them write over them etc. I used viola to present my work (the screen shots that I take)

iShowu: Is another programme on the Mac that allows you to record and take pictures of what your doing at the same time!

Quark Xpress: allowed me to do all my ancillary work

Rollip: Rollip is a programme that I personally had to research for, this allowed me to edit my pictures as you can see on my poster and also CD. 

Here I have used Google to research my artist. Google was used for various research like images, different artists, the style they use etc.

My media A2 coursework is about blogging! The things I have done! I have blogged about everything I did during my media video and digipack.

Facebook was also used to see other aritsts! As now facebook is a popular social networking

Youtube was used to research on other artists. We chose Nathan as our artist!

Viola was used to import pictures by taking screen shots and also writing around them, I used Viola alot

Rollip is a website that I searched for and used my picture (CD cover) to give it that effect as you can see below

We used through out my music video research. Facebok was used to get feedback from the audience, Vimeo was used to view my music video, youtube was used to research on other music artist music video, for example researching om Nathan music video and also other artists. The main research engine I used was Google and also Blogger. Google was used to research artists CD cover and what kind of images  I shall be protraying and also the kind of audience Hip hop is mainly aimed for. Blogger is the main website I used as it is part of my coursework project. Many of these technological websites have had a massive impact on my music video, the research that I have been doing.

Social networking is  a way of promoting artists. All these sites that I used was for in depth research. 

For our music video we used final cut pro; we used various of transitions: here is an example of the effect of the transition that was used also a video of how it worked in the music video.

As you can see below is screen shots of images from my music video; The reason why I screen shot is so the transition is showen, the effects that I used (ghostly effect). These effects worked really well. 

For the editing I used different tranistions to give it that  quick pace editing and effect. The capacity of time and speed. It was fast pace editing.

How to make a gif

Here I am taking about the kind of fonts are used and why. I believe these fonts that I have used are very stylist, and also attractive. its not just boring old fonts. Its bold standing out, eye catching. During my feedback time i asked a lot of people about what they think about my font and I got a lot of positive, hardly any negative, i am happy with the font I chose. A lot of artists like Jamie foxx CD fonts inspired. White clothing was used through out my digi pack (poster, CD cover) and also part of my music video.  The colour white has a lot of connations like purity, pure, clear etc. The reason why we have decided to use the colour white is because we believed it would work well in the music video with the white background and also it would be a good contrast. The dancers also wear white, it matches the artist and also the white background. As you can see my poster (on the left) the white shirt and the creamy white background of the poster. My CD cover and poster are the same image. One of the reasons why I have done this is because I believe having similar images or certain clothing maybe recongised by 'Angelo' fans, as we are here to promote his CD and himself. Like a lot of artist do they use images that they have in there video and advertise it just like Calvin harris. Calvin harris is an example of using the same CD image he used in his video and also used for his CD cover.  The open shirt of the body i believe would appeal to a lot of females and also gay males (the white works well with this as well)

Here is an example of a CD cover and also a shot of Calvin Harris video, here he is promoting the song and the CD, as there is same images of the CD  that he used in the video and also used the same for his CD cover, the reason why he used the same mise-en-scene background is because he wants it to be recongiseble so that the auidence know who the artist is. This is a way of promoting the artisit and also the CD and also music video. These two images are screen shot that I took from the video to show how he used the same mise-en-scene through out and also the disc as the cover of his CD cover. He also used female too.

Below you can see Calvin Harris CD cover. You can see he used the same mise-en-scene as the music video he used. He used a lot of of females and for his CD cover here he has used one of the females wearing shades. The same colours are used aswell.

The fonts that I have used. As you can see the fonts that i have used for the poster and also CD cover. A font can sometimes tell a lot about the artist. My font is not too girly or too manly. Its just a normal attractive font. When I recieved a lot of feedback the first positive comment I got was about my font, how attractive it was and appealing. The unique font I used (shown below of the font) I believe would be up to a lot of peoples taste.

Create a gif    The font I have used is "Cracked" and "Stencil". I used the same font for my poster as well as i want the writing to be recongiseable like a lot of artists names are 'N-duds" "Jessie J" they always use the same colour and font so its recongisable.

Evaluation 1:

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Throughout the whole process from planning our music video, my main ideas and inspirations developed through numbers of different music videos from British to American music videos. These useful music videos I researched on Youtube influenced me to come up with different shots (some specific shots) which worked really well with our music video and also went with our music genre. From numerious research on different music videos, and from planning the different shots we will do, I believe it worked really well and fitted with the genre we aimed for. Our music video 'do without my love' was very different from the actual music video by nathan. The whole mise-en-scene was different as his one was mainly in a room and we had different shots and different location. We also had two different females dancers that performed in a studio (that we rented out for three hours). The dance shot; one video that really influenced our dancers were Shakira and Beyonce video 'beautiful lies' as there are many different shots and many different dance routine that we took and made it into our own little style.
Laura Mulvey theory about how women are represented in music videos,In our music video we have two female dancers but they are not seen as sexual objects like Mulvey says. As our artist is a male a lot of male videos have women that are represented as a sexual object and also some women are dressed in a sexual way like in Nicki Minajs video also beyonce (and many more) but they are in control. Other male videos like Dizzy Rascal, 50cent , Usherwomen are the sexual object, they are not in control. My ancilary work is my artist reveling this body shape this is in a sexual way but if it was a female it would go with Laurs Mulvey theory about sexual woman's.

My media product is specifically targeted for 'hip hop' 'rnb'. As hip hop and rnb is mainly targeted at a younger audience we also wanted our music video genre to be specifically for a young (mainly female) auidence.

A lot of male artists and videos influenced our music video. Here am some examples that influenced our music video. Here is Olly Murs video 'hearts skips a beat' the background influenced me a lot. As the background is catchy, colourful and we believe it will work very well in the dark which me and my peers believe it did. Also Jay sean music videos like 'maybe' the white background gave us ideas about renting a white background for our music video.

This picture is exactly like my digipack front cover (for the CD cover), the white top, my artist touchin their head, looking down their is a comparison going on here. The background is course different. We made this pic into our own with the effects. But what makes our one sexi and different is that here Jay sean only has a little bit of cleaveage but our artist has his full shirt open. This makes it sexual. Other images that inspired my digipack (CD cover) is:
"Indiya" is one of my favourite from one of the past students, the use of colour, the images. It inspired me a lot, but as its quiet clear that there target audience is for females, use to the girly colour.

The sexual look in his eyes, gets the females! makes it seem like his looking at only them.

One of the reasons why I love this video (chris brown- with you) is because of the mise-en-scene, the different type of shots that have been used, and the fast pace editing. The effects are beautiful and works very well. The colourful effects and also the meaningful lyrics.

Another artist that influenced me about different shots that i shall be using in my music video is Jessie J 'who you are' I believe the close up that were used were really fanastic and you can see her emotions. Has we had to film numerous time, one of the problems we had was not having enough close up. So we filmed again, before we actually did we did research on close up and one of the film that influenced me was Jessie J video.

In her videos there are loads of close up, but her mise-en-scene is completely different from ours as ours lighting is bright, and our one is not located in a room. The close up we do

is outside. We also researched on how and were we will do our close up and decided our music video will go will if its done outside.

In terms of mise-en-scene, we had different locations. The first time we filmed was at a bridge. We used different match cuts, like all music video have, which is one scene to another. We did that with our music video. The idea of the bridge was from one artist Fergie and also JLS. We filmed our one during day light and JLS did their at night.

Long to close up shots were important, even though you can hardly see match cuts in our music video, it worked really well and effectively throughout or productive   .We used various shots as we were also thinking outside the box by taking so many shots.

Here  is a comparison of the white background idea of Jay seans music video 'maybe' and our two pictures of using the white back ground. A lot of music video have used the idea of white background like Ed Sheenan video as well 'you need me' and also Rihanna music 'we found love' .In Rihanna music video she uses a room , cream colour background. A lot of music artist uses white wall background as there background as it is a good use of mise-en-scene and works really well

A lot of our shots in our music video use a lot of long shots, mid shots, and close up. The artist makes a lot of eye contact with the camera, the viewers. One advantage of this is that the viewers will feel like the artist is making eye contact with them. This will attract the viewers more and feel special and seem like the artist is singing to them etc.
Our music video didnt really challenege conventions as much when we was researching on hip hop and RnB music videos by different artists. Being creatvie, and doing a lot of research on other music videos i realised that it isnt that difficult into making a (simple) music video. Our music video is mainly focusing on the hip hop and Rnb genre, a lot of RnB and hip hop videos contain a lot of elements like big car, big mansion, explict female dancers, gold etc. Our music video did have basic mise-en-scene like costume changing, different location, rented studios, two talented female dancers, different shots like mid shots, close ups, tracking etc, we promoted the artist through the music video by focusing only on the artist throughout the video. The artist alway was always looking at the camera as this is a way of the viewers feeling like the artist is directly singing to them. Our music video does fit within the disjuncture conventio of Andrew Goodwin's theory, as it does not really connect with the lyrics and also the song is mainly about love so there is no connation of love like roses, red etc.
