We have been given a guide to follow this will enable us to see how and what we need to produce and  include in out Digipak and advertisement.

This is a brief outline of the 'do's' and 'don'ts':

DO'S
use a clear font and appropriate SIZE for images and fonts
clear photo's that are in focus and that are an approriate shape for the page
a layout that follows the rule of thirds for composition
An appropriate type face that follows
- Genre conventions
- A house style
Follow  the conventions of the 3 colour rule and use colour that is appropriate for
-images
-fonts
-background
Careful where font is placed it must
-follow genre conventions
-be clear from a distance  It is import\nt to think carefully about how to use and intergrate
-font
-text and language
-image Use appropriate indusrty logos and conventions, properly positioned
-barcode
-date
-copy right
-titles
-artist name

Here is a very well produced digipak, very well planned and structured. They haven't overloaded themselves with a tremendous amount of panels to produce. its a very simple design that has been followed through with all the panels. What makes this an absolute well produced digipak is that it has included all the " DO's and excluded all the DONT's "

DON'TS
Stretch images, or this will make them out of focus
Use layer styles
Use unnecessary effects. Any effects used must suit the genre
Place text across the artist's face
Use a font simply beacuse you 'like it'
Feel like you need a seperate phohto on every panel

Heres an example of what you shouldn't do with your digipak. This digipak, you can tell that the pictures have been re-scaled incorrectly and making the artist seem more weighty than she really is. They have included a consistent graphic design which is very good but the sizing and re-scaling of the pictures just make the whole digipak seem very rush and not cared for.
