Dance project- research.

In the summer during our taster week of A2 myself and karen as dance students took part in a small filming project which the dance and music students teamed up to create. The media department also helped us with providing the technical equipment such as cameras (the ones we use to film our music video) tripod, etc. This project allowed us to see how important mise en scene, costume, movement and relationships between eachother is. This helped us think about the why we wanted to film our music video and gave us a head start with our dance shots. Here is the final outcome below :)

Our costumes were very similar to the costumes we picked for our music video, simple, yet effective. We all wore different coloured tops for interest, but not taking away from the dance, and black leggins and black plimsoles. A plain costume means the audience can focus more on what the dancer is doing rather than what they are wearing.
Close ups and medium shots were used in order to see the dancers expressions and movements more clearly.

Our mise en scene was City and Islingtons canteen area, were our theme on relaxation and stress came across the most. We made it look like an examination aswell as a schools social place.
